Rockland Maine Becomes Ninth Coast Guard City
WASHINGTON D.C. — U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe
(R-Maine) today announced that the
City of
Rockland has been approved to receive the
highly coveted designation of “Coast Guard City” from the United
States Congress. The announcement follows a nomination on behalf of
Rockland by Admiral Thad Allen in March and the completion of a
rigorous application review by the United States Coast Guard.

The US Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) will be
hosting public meetings/hearings in Washington
DC, Portland and Chicago over the next two months on additional
information for the discharge permit for vessels. Members are encouraged
to attend as private citizens to make their concerns as recreational
boaters known to the EPA, but cannot give input in uniform or use
auxiliary titles unless they receive permission from their District
Commodore, Director of Auxiliary, and District Commander. Questions
should be directed via the

eForms have been revised to reflect the
changes to some airlines which are now charging for baggage. The expense
drop down menus now include Aircraft Baggage Charge. Travelers must use

new Personal Qualifications Standard (PQS) for Auxiliary
Telecommunications has been developed and approved by the Auxiliary, see

Trident Update Bulletin 2008-01 describes the
change in the educational requirements for both the MS Training Ribbon
and Trident device. The change brings these requirements into compliance
with the ICS requirements established in ALAUX 002/07. back to TOP Auxiliary National Conference (NACON) - Registration, Reservations, Etc. A
printable PDF version of the registration form has been added to
the NACON website
which may be completed by hand and mailed with payment to Ann Beecher,

registration for NACON 2008. We are continuing to update the website as
