Promoting America's Boating Course

You have the instructors, the facility and the interest to join in the ABC-Just One More! campaign but how do you find the students? If you'd like to have over 200 boaters take your ABC classes like Division 10, 8CR has, read how they developed some very effective marketing techniques.

Auxiliary Boat Crew Program

Many of you have become aware of the impending changes to the Auxiliary Boat Crew Training Program and I'd like to take this opportunity to update you on these changes. These changes do not imply any change in the importance or priority of the Auxiliary Surface Operational Support to the US Coast Guard. Auxiliary operational support to the Coast Guard has been and will continue to be a critical component of our mission mix.

Simplified Reporting

One of the projects I hoped to see delivered during my term as National Commodore is the Auxiliary Activity Report (AuxAR) program. This electronic reporting process will allow members to report hours into AUXDATA simply, quickly and online. I mistakenly thought implementation of this new process would be a slam-dunk. Unfortunately, I underestimated the complexity of the connection to the AUXDATA system and so we are still waiting for this ball, now circling the rim, to fall through the hoop. Here’s some background and the current status of this important project.
