External Communication's Responsibilities

a) Division is responsible for communicating the goals and accomplishments of the USCG Auxiliary, as well as providing mitigation and recovery from negative press events.

b) Chief focal point of communications with the media, both traditional and industry - in any venue or genre.

c) Chief focal point for Public Affairs activities as it relates to the national stage.

d) Conduit for NACO's relationship with non-CG and partner public relations.

e) Conduit for NACO relationships with CG and partners vis a vis public relations.

f) Responsible for A Department web site.

g) Liaison and consultant (image and content) for national web site.

h) Liaison and consultant on grand scheme of lower unit web site responsibilities and over-arching content.

Customer Service Benchmarks

  1. All e-mails received by an External Comms Division member will have at least a return message stating "Got it" or similar message.

  2. All e-mails should be responded to, in earnest within 1 weeks time, from the time of the initial "Got it" message.

  3. All News Stories sent to the Branch Chief - Liaison Internal will be answered with either an affirmative, we will use the story, or negative, thank you, but we can't use the story. Given the sheer numbers of potential stories, we can not guarantee a detailed answer.
