Commodore
Warren McAdams
National Chief of Staff
United States Coast Guard Auxiliary

Commodore Warren McAdams was commissioned a Second
Lieutenant in the U. S. Army at the AROTC Unit, Ohio State University in
1960. Assigned to the Infantry Officers School at Fort Benning,
Georgia, he completed the Infantry Officers Orientation Course and Airborne
Course. He was then sent to Fort Jackson, South Carolina where he
served in a number of line and staff assignments including Company
Commander. After active duty he served in the 410th Infantry, Iowa
City, Iowa and the 11th Special Forces Group, Columbus, Ohio. He left
the Army Reserve in 1968 as a Captain USAR.
He received a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the Ohio State
University in 1960. While at Ohio State, he was designated a
Distinguished Military Graduate. In addition he was named to the
Scabbard and Blade Honorary Society and Mershon Honorary Society.
Following graduation, he was employed by the Procter & Gamble Company
where he worked in both manufacturing and product development. His
assignments included residences in five states and he and retired in 1996,
after thirty-six years of service.
Serving in the Coast Guard Auxiliary since 1981, he is a Coxswain,
Instructor, Vessel Examiner, Qualification Examiner and AUXOP member.
He has been a member of Flotilla 24-01 in the Second District, Southern
Region, Huntsville, Alabama; Flotilla 28, Seventh District, Macon, Georgia;
and Flotilla 53, Eighth District, Eastern Region, Cincinnati, Ohio. He
was District Commodore for calendar years 1995-96, served as Department
Chief Boating from January 1997 to September 2001 and NADCO-RBS from October
2001 to October 2006. On November 1, 2006, he will assume his new
duties as National Chief of Staff.
His awards and medals include: the Coast Guard Auxiliary Meritorious
Service Award with two gold stars, Coast Guard Auxiliary Award of
Operational Merit, Coast Guard Auxiliary Commendation Award, Coast Guard
Sustained Auxiliary Service Award with bronze hourglass, Secretary of the
Department of Transportation Outstanding Unit Award, Coast Guard Unit
Commendation with three gold stars, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit
Commendation with one gold star, Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation
with seven gold stars and the Coast Guard Bicentennial Unit Commendation.
He is authorized to wear the Army Parachutist, AUXOP and Coxswain devices.
He has been married forty-three years and has two grown children.
His wife Billie is active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and currently serves
as the SO-IS for Division 5 in Greater Cincinnati. He and his wife
reside at 894 Surrey Ridge Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio.
